about me

Hello, I’m Dai, tattooist & multidisciplinary artist.

My journey as a tattooist began in 2009 in Barcelona. I was completing a degree in Fine Arts and soon after a Masters in Contemporary Art Creation. Through my years at uni I gained versatility in different mediums such as painting, sculpture, installation, screen printing & a bit of everything to be honest. I’ve always enjoyed exploring different mediums so tattooing became one of them. Since the beginning I felt attracted to the collaborative and the social side of tattooing, which felt more real than the self-absorbed life of a painter.

In recent years tattooing has become the main focus of my artistic practice. Currently I’m a resident tattooist at Infinity Ink in Bristol (UK) and I am on the lookout for guest spots in studios around Europe.

In my tattoo designs I like colour harmony, contrast, line work and a mysterious feel. I am influenced by nature and by the work of artists I admire. I can’t fit my style into a category because I want to be open to expression, as well as to what resonates with my customers. I am interested in folk, mythology, tarot, magic & all kinds of animations especially Studio Ghibli. I take my inspiration from fauna, flora, fungi and all sorts of textures and bits I find on my walks in nature. I love contemplating landscape and the constant changes of light and movement of wind and water. It all inspires me to create these merging flowy shapes that fit beautifully on the body. I aspire to translate my abstract paintings into tattoos one day.

I am open to custom projects, so if my work and words here resonate with you don’t hesitate to get in touch. I also speak Spanish & Romanian, so feel free to contact me in the language you prefer. I am excited to hear your ideas!
